Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Prayers Before Bed by Jozef Geirnaert was sold in the British, Continental & Russian Pictures auction at Christies in London in December 2007. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 325.00 (€ 441.62) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jozef Geirnaert achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Die Auffindung des Mosesknaben in May 2017 with an auction result of EUR 21,080.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Prayers Before Bed von Jozef Geirnaert wurde im Dezember 2007 in der Auktion British, Continental & Russian Pictures bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 300,00 – 500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 325,00 (€ 441,62) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jozef Geirnaert erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Die Auffindung des Mosesknaben im Mai 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 21.080,00.
