Auction result misses estimated price range
In April 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work An Elegant Hunting Party Resting By A Fountain by Joseph Stephan for GBP 3,500.00 (€ 4,462.01). This price was achieved in the auction Old Master Paintings Sale at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joseph Stephan achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A boar hunt in winter; A stag hunt; and A stag hunt: the kill in July 2004 with an auction result of GBP 31,070.00 (€ 46,953.61).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im April 2008 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit An Elegant Hunting Party Resting By A Fountain von Joseph Stephan für GBP 3.500,00 (€ 4.462,01) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Old Master Paintings Sale bei Sothebys in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Joseph Stephan erzielen.
