Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Josef Šíma achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Paris in June 2021. In the Art Contemporain Evening Sale auction, the work Impact de lumière II sold for EUR 399,700.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 180,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Josef Šíma - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Jour du royal bleu, which sold at auction in June this year for EUR 806,400.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Josef Šíma erzielte im Juni 2021 bei Sothebys in Paris einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Art Contemporain Evening Sale wurde die Arbeit Impact de lumière II für EUR 399.700,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 180.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Josef Šíma mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Jour du royal bleu beobachtet, die im Juni diesen Jahres für EUR 806.400,00 versteigert wurde.
