Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Josef Šíma achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Paris in December this year. In the Art contemporain auction, the work Sans titre sold for EUR 239,400.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 100,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Josef Šíma - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Jour du royal bleu, which sold at auction in June this year for EUR 806,400.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Josef Šíma erzielte im Dezember diesen Jahres bei Christies in Paris einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Art contemporain wurde die Arbeit Sans titre für EUR 239.400,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 100.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Josef Šíma mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Jour du royal bleu beobachtet, die im Juni diesen Jahres für EUR 806.400,00 versteigert wurde.
