In June 2019 Christies in Paris held the auction Art d'après-guerre et contemporain, vente du soir, which included the work Espace bleu II by Josef Šíma. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 162,500.00 35% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Josef Šíma have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Jour du royal bleu in June this year with an auction result of EUR 806,400.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 35 % übertroffen
Im Juni 2019 führte Christies in Paris die Auktion Art d'après-guerre et contemporain, vente du soir durch, in der auch die Arbeit Espace bleu II von Josef Šíma zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 162.500,00 und damit 35% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Josef Šíma auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Jour du royal bleu im Juni diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 806.400,00.
