Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2001 Christies in London held the auction BRITISH & CONTINENTAL PICTURES, which included the work On the river Llugwy, Betws-y-Coed, North Wales by Joseph Paul Pettitt. The price achieved of GBP 1,292.50 (€ 2,166.91) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Admittedly, works by Joseph Paul Pettitt have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The saw mill, Camlaw, North Wales in November 2000 with an auction result of GBP 7,637.50 (€ 12,483.19).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.292,50 (€ 2.166,91) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben worden.
