Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2001 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Watercolours and Drawings, which included the work Figures before Eastgate House, Rochester by Joseph Murray Ince. The price achieved of GBP 493.50 (€ 796.79) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 400.00 – 600.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joseph Murray Ince achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Stockholm in September 2002 with an auction result of GBP 7,637.50 (€ 12,137.74).
