Auction result well in line with expectations

The price achieved of GBP 411.25 (€ 600.67) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 300.00 – 500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Joseph Mellor - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work 'Brook in the Glen, near Shipley', which sold at auction in March 2000 for GBP 977.50 (€ 1,625.63).
