Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In January 2010 Sothebys in New York held the auction Important Old Master Paintings and Sculpture, which included the work A Young Woman Watering A Pot Of Flowers, "La Jeune Athénienne" by Joseph-Marie Vien. Here, the upper estimate of USD 180,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 182,500.00 (€ 131,578.95). Admittedly, works by Joseph-Marie Vien have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Women In Classical Dress Attending A Young Bride in February 2018 with an auction result of USD 855,000.00 (€ 700,188.35).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Januar 2010 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Important Old Master Paintings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Young Woman Watering A Pot Of Flowers, "La Jeune Athénienne" von Joseph-Marie Vien zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 180.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 182.500,00 (€ 131.578,95) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Joseph-Marie Vien auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Women In Classical Dress Attending A Young Bride im Februar 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 855.000,00 (€ 700.188,35).
