Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Siska'S Mill, Knocke by Joseph Raphael was sold in the American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture auction at Sothebys in New York in September 2012. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 62,500.00 (€ 48,615.43) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joseph Raphael achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Tea In The Orchard in August 2019 with an auction result of USD 548,075.00 (€ 498,748.75).

Die Arbeit Siska'S Mill, Knocke von Joseph Raphael wurde im September 2012 in der Auktion American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 62.500,00 (€ 48.615,43) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
