Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Sign of the Swordfish by Joseph Lambert Cain was sold in the American Art auction at Bonhams in New York in November last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 3,187.50 (€ 3,087.77) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Joseph Lambert Cain have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in November 2021 the work Bathers and Landscape: A Double-Sided Work was auctioned for USD 4,717.50 (€ 4,179.59).
