The »bidding war« ended at GBP 896.00 (€ 896.00), 28% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Joseph Kirkpatrick - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Feeding the ducks, which sold at auction in February 2000 for GBP 1,610.00 (€ 2,634.64).
