Auction result well in line with expectations

The price achieved of GBP 4,560.00 (€ 6,614.24) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Joseph Goupy - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Dream of Jacob; and Tobias and the Angel, both after Salvator Rosa, which sold at auction in January 2012 for USD 22,500.00 (€ 17,237.42).
