Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work The Quay, Orta by Joseph Edward Southall was auctioned at Bonhams in March this year. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 20,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 20,400.00 (€ 23,208.94). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Joseph Edward Southall - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Rose Bowl, which sold at auction in July 2017 for GBP 43,750.00 (€ 48,818.28).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit The Quay, Orta von Joseph Edward Southall kam im März diesen Jahres bei Bonhams zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 20.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 20.400,00 (€ 23.208,94) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Joseph Edward Southall mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Rose Bowl beobachtet, die im Juli 2017 für GBP 43.750,00 (€ 48.818,28) versteigert wurde.
