In March 2010 Artcurial in Paris held the auction Contemporary Art, which included the work Composition, 1962 by Joseph Dudley Downing. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 3,188.00 59% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Joseph Dudley Downing have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Et cela depuis toujours in July 2010 with an auction result of EUR 13,750.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 59 % übertroffen
Im März 2010 führte Artcurial in Paris die Auktion Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Composition, 1962 von Joseph Dudley Downing zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 3.188,00 und damit 59% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Joseph Dudley Downing auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Et cela depuis toujours im Juli 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 13.750,00.
