Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The entry of the Trojan Horse by Joseph Odevaere was sold in the Old Master & British Drawings auction at Christies in New York in January 2019. The price achieved of USD 12,500.00 (€ 10,913.22) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joseph Odevaere achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Belgian The Last Guardians Of Messolonghi in May 2009 with an auction result of GBP 97,250.00 (€ 111,253.01).

Die Arbeit The entry of the Trojan Horse von Joseph Odevaere wurde im Januar 2019 in der Auktion Old Master & British Drawings bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 12.500,00 (€ 10.913,22) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Joseph Odevaere erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Belgian The Last Guardians Of Messolonghi im Mai 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 97.250,00 (€ 111.253,01).
