Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Joseph Caraud could be acquired at Christies in London in June 2005 for an unexpectedly low price. In the 19th Century European Art Including Ottomans & Orientalists auction, the work Idle Hours changed hands for GBP 8,400.00 (€ 12,449.33) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Joseph Caraud have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work French Intérieur À Alger in April 2014 with an auction result of GBP 86,500.00 (€ 105,290.52).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Joseph Caraud konnte im Juni 2005 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion 19th Century European Art Including Ottomans & Orientalists wechselte die Arbeit Idle Hours für GBP 8.400,00 (€ 12.449,33) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Joseph Caraud auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit French Intérieur À Alger im April 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 86.500,00 (€ 105.290,52).
