Auction result well in line with expectations
In May this year Artcurial held the auction Contemporary African Art Online, which included the work Bus terminal 2, 2008 by Joseph Bertiers. The price achieved of EUR 7,216.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 6,000.00 – 9,000.00. Admittedly, works by Joseph Bertiers have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Wedding, 2019 in May 2021 with an auction result of MAD 429,000.00 (€ 37,643.92).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai diesen Jahres führte Artcurial die Auktion Contemporary African Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Bus terminal 2, 2008 von Joseph Bertiers zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 7.216,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 6.000,00 – 9.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Joseph Bertiers auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Wedding, 2019 im Mai 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von MAD 429.000,00 (€ 37.643,92).
