Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Joseph Bernard achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Paris in October last year. In the Art & Design : un certain regard sur le XXè siècle auction, the work Jeune Fille à la cruche (état petite nature) sold for EUR 47,880.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 20,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Joseph Bernard; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Jeune Danseuse Ou Jeune Fille À La Draperie sold at auction in July 2007 with the realized price of EUR 48,000.00.

Dieses Kunstwerk von Joseph Bernard erzielte im Oktober letzten Jahres bei Christies in Paris einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Art & Design : un certain regard sur le XXè siècle wurde die Arbeit Jeune Fille à la cruche (état petite nature) für EUR 47.880,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 20.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Joseph Bernard; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Jeune Danseuse Ou Jeune Fille À La Draperie im Juli 2007 mit dem Hammerpreis von EUR 48.000,00.
