Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Metafisica by Josep Maria Subirachs was sold in the Modernismo: Spanish Artists of the 20th Century auction at Sothebys in New York in April last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 3,000.00 – 4,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 3,024.00 (€ 2,869.89) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Josep Maria Subirachs achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work L'Architecture in April last year with an auction result of USD 40,320.00 (€ 38,265.16).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Metafisica von Josep Maria Subirachs wurde im April letzten Jahres in der Auktion Modernismo: Spanish Artists of the 20th Century bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 4.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 3.024,00 (€ 2.869,89) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Josep Maria Subirachs erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit L'Architecture im April letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 40.320,00 (€ 38.265,16).
