This artwork by Josef Kriehuber achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in June 2003. In the IMPORTANT GOLD BOXES,OBJECTS OF VERTU & PORTRAIT MINIATURES auction, the work Lothar Freiherr Pratobevera von Wiesborn as a young boy, facing right in grey coat with green collar, grey waistcoat, white shirt and black cravat, moss-green hat with large green band in his curling dark hair sold for GBP 3,346.00 (€ 4,808.38) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Josef Kriehuber - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait of Baron von Tettenborn, which sold at auction in June 2008 for GBP 8,750.00 (€ 11,060.29).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Josef Kriehuber erzielte im Juni 2003 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion IMPORTANT GOLD BOXES,OBJECTS OF VERTU & PORTRAIT MINIATURES wurde die Arbeit Lothar Freiherr Pratobevera von Wiesborn as a young boy, facing right in grey coat with green collar, grey waistcoat, white shirt and black cravat, moss-green hat with large green band in his curling dark hair für GBP 3.346,00 (€ 4.808,38) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.500,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Josef Kriehuber mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Portrait of Baron von Tettenborn beobachtet, die im Juni 2008 für GBP 8.750,00 (€ 11.060,29) versteigert wurde.
