In January 2009 Christies in New York held the auction The Scholars Eye: Property from the Julius Held Collection Part I, which included the work Study for figures in Die Klostersuppe (recto); Study of a woman standing, her right arm outstretched (verso) by Josef Danhauser. The »bidding war« ended at USD 1,500.00 (€ 1,171.51), 25% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Josef Danhauser achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Das Kind auf der Trommel. 1841. in March 2021 with an auction result of CHF 17,380.00 (€ 15,714.97).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im Januar 2009 führte Christies in New York die Auktion The Scholars Eye: Property from the Julius Held Collection Part I durch, in der auch die Arbeit Study for figures in Die Klostersuppe (recto); Study of a woman standing, her right arm outstretched (verso) von Josef Danhauser zur Versteigerung kam.
