This artwork by José Palmeiro achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in September 2000. In the BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES auction, the work Bowls of fruit with a vase of flower and a jug on a partially draped table sold for GBP 1,645.00 (€ 2,752.59) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 900.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by José Palmeiro; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot St. Jean, Cap Ferrat, France sold at auction in December 2002 with the realized price of GBP 2,350.00 (€ 3,607.37).
