In December 2018 Sothebys in London held the auction 19th Century European Paintings, which included the work Spanish grupa Valenciana by José Mongrell. The result of GBP 30,000.00 (€ 33,422.66) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by José Mongrell - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work La Vuelta De La Pesca (The Return Of The Fishermen), which sold at auction in November 2007 for GBP 66,500.00 (€ 93,117.20).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Dezember 2018 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion 19th Century European Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Spanish grupa Valenciana von José Mongrell zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 30.000,00 (€ 33.422,66) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 30.000,00 – 50.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von José Mongrell mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit La Vuelta De La Pesca (The Return Of The Fishermen) beobachtet, die im November 2007 für GBP 66.500,00 (€ 93.117,20) versteigert wurde.
