Auction result misses estimated price range
When this work without title by Jose Mijares was auctioned at Phillips in New York in November 2017, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 6,250.00 (€ 5,252.98). Admittedly, works by Jose Mijares have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Lo concreto en rojo in May last year with an auction result of USD 50,400.00 (€ 46,966.73).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Jose Mijares im November 2017 bei Phillips in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 6.250,00 (€ 5.252,98) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jose Mijares auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Lo concreto en rojo im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 50.400,00 (€ 46.966,73).
