In May 2012 Sothebys in New York held the auction 19th Century European Art, which included the work Spanish the Cardinals by José Gallegos. The result of USD 25,000.00 (€ 20,219.99) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. Admittedly, works by José Gallegos have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Choir of St. Mark'S, Venice in November 2006 with an auction result of GBP 84,000.00 (€ 124,742.63).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Mai 2012 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion 19th Century European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Spanish the Cardinals von José Gallegos zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 25.000,00 (€ 20.219,99) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von José Gallegos auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Choir of St. Mark'S, Venice im November 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 84.000,00 (€ 124.742,63).
