Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Floresta by José Bento was sold in the Latin American Art Online auction at Christies in New York in November 2018. The price achieved of USD 2,500.00 (€ 2,207.90) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by José Bento - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Árvore, which sold at auction in November 2012 for USD 10,000.00 (€ 7,686.40).

Die Arbeit Floresta von José Bento wurde im November 2018 in der Auktion Latin American Art Online bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 2.500,00 (€ 2.207,90) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von José Bento mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Árvore beobachtet, die im November 2012 für USD 10.000,00 (€ 7.686,40) versteigert wurde.
