This artwork by José Antolínez achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in July 2021. In the Old Master & British Works on Paper auction, the work Cherubs sold for GBP 10,710.00 (€ 12,559.70) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by José Antolínez - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Baptism of Christ, which sold at auction in June 2015 for USD 50,000.00 (€ 44,826.97).

Dieses Kunstwerk von José Antolínez erzielte im Juli 2021 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master & British Works on Paper wurde die Arbeit Cherubs für GBP 10.710,00 (€ 12.559,70) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 6.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von José Antolínez mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Baptism of Christ beobachtet, die im Juni 2015 für USD 50.000,00 (€ 44.826,97) versteigert wurde.
