Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Jonathan Lasker achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in May 2021. In the Contemporary Art Online auction, the work To Regain Virginity sold for GBP 50,400.00 (€ 58,641.56) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 20,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jonathan Lasker - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Discontinuous Self, which sold at auction in July last year for USD 138,600.00 (€ 135,855.71).

In der Auktion Contemporary Art Online wurde die Arbeit To Regain Virginity für GBP 50.400,00 (€ 58.641,56) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 20.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Jonathan Lasker mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Discontinuous Self beobachtet, die im Juli letzten Jahres für USD 138.600,00 (€ 135.855,71) versteigert wurde.
