Auction result misses estimated price range

When the work A Mountainous Landscape With A Tower, Two Travellers On A Road In The Foreground by Jonas Umbach was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in November 2004, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 600.00 – 800.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 597.50. Admittedly, works by Jonas Umbach have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Rocky And Mountainous Landscape in January 2014 with an auction result of USD 4,688.00 (€ 3,472.59).

Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne

Als die Arbeit A Mountainous Landscape With A Tower, Two Travellers On A Road In The Foreground von Jonas Umbach im November 2004 bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 600,00 – 800,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 597,50 den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jonas Umbach auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Rocky And Mountainous Landscape im Januar 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 4.688,00 (€ 3.472,59).
