Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by John Young Hunter could be acquired at Sothebys in London in December 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Victorian & Edwardian Art auction, the work The Flagmender changed hands for GBP 3,500.00 (€ 3,676.02) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Young Hunter achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Vanity Fair in July 2020 with an auction result of GBP 125,000.00 (€ 139,427.98).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von John Young Hunter konnte im Dezember 2008 bei Sothebys in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Victorian & Edwardian Art wechselte die Arbeit The Flagmender für GBP 3.500,00 (€ 3.676,02) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Young Hunter erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Vanity Fair im Juli 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 125.000,00 (€ 139.427,98).
