Auction result misses estimated price range
In January 2007 a collector was able to acquire the work Fishermen beside a river; and A figure in a landscape by John Westall for GBP 240.00 (€ 362.10). This price was achieved in the auction British, Continental & Russian Pictures at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Westall - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A figure on a country track by a windmill, which sold at auction in April 2002 for GBP 528.75 (€ 855.50).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Januar 2007 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Fishermen beside a river; and A figure in a landscape von John Westall für GBP 240,00 (€ 362,10) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion British, Continental & Russian Pictures bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 300,00 – 500,00. Für andere Arbeiten von John Westall mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A figure on a country track by a windmill beobachtet, die im April 2002 für GBP 528,75 (€ 855,50) versteigert wurde.
