In April 2002 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Pictures, which included the work A figure on a country track by a windmill by John Westall. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 500.00 – 700.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 528.75 (€ 855.50) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, A figure on a country track by a windmill is the most expensive artwork by John Westall that we have observed at auctions so far.
