Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

Here, the upper estimate of USD 3,500.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 3,750.00 (€ 2,688.75). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Szarkowski - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Selected Images from The Idea of Louis Sullivan, which sold at auction in October 2014 for USD 13,125.00 (€ 10,474.86).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Screen Door, Hudson, Wisconsin, 1950 von John Szarkowski kam im Oktober 2011 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 3.500,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 3.750,00 (€ 2.688,75) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von John Szarkowski mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Selected Images from The Idea of Louis Sullivan beobachtet, die im Oktober 2014 für USD 13.125,00 (€ 10.474,86) versteigert wurde.
