The price achieved of GBP 12,750.00 (€ 14,834.92) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by John Smellie have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work On the Clyde in May this year with an auction result of GBP 53,220.00 (€ 61,921.82).
