Auction result misses estimated price range
In August 2005 a collector was able to acquire the work Enclosed summer retreats by John Skelton for GBP 60.00 (€ 87.65). This price was achieved in the auction BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Skelton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Torso Leaning in February 2007 with an auction result of GBP 9,600.00 (€ 14,231.66).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im August 2005 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Enclosed summer retreats von John Skelton für GBP 60,00 (€ 87,65) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 400,00 – 600,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Skelton erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Torso Leaning im Februar 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 9.600,00 (€ 14.231,66).
