Auction result misses estimated price range
In December 2006 a collector was able to acquire the work Portrait of C. May Esq., half-length, in an embroidered waistcoat and jacket by John Seymour Lucas for GBP 780.00 (€ 1,157.62). This price was achieved in the auction British and Victorian Pictures at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Seymour Lucas achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The burning of Martin Luther's works in September 2007 with an auction result of GBP 10,000.00 (€ 14,339.26).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Dezember 2006 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Portrait of C. May Esq., half-length, in an embroidered waistcoat and jacket von John Seymour Lucas für GBP 780,00 (€ 1.157,62) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion British and Victorian Pictures bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Seymour Lucas erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The burning of Martin Luther's works im September 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 10.000,00 (€ 14.339,26).
