Auction result misses estimated price range
In March 2017 a collector was able to acquire the work Her eyes are with her thoughts, but they are far away by John Robert Dicksee for GBP 2,500.00 (€ 2,929.75). This price was achieved in the auction Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art, Maritime Art, Sporting & Wildlife Art at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Robert Dicksee - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work My Lady The Countess, which sold at auction in March 2016 for GBP 5,000.00 (€ 6,312.99).
