Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2018 Sothebys in London held the auction Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art, which included the work An Encampment by John Ritchie. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,500.00 (€ 3,924.27) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Ritchie achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Winter, St James's Park, London in December 2016 with an auction result of GBP 137,000.00 (€ 160,175.23).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2018 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit An Encampment von John Ritchie zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.500,00 (€ 3.924,27) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Ritchie erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Winter, St James's Park, London im Dezember 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 137.000,00 (€ 160.175,23).
