Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2005 Christies in London held the auction British Art on Paper, which included the work Portrait of A Lady, Traditionally Identified As The Artist'S Wife, Half-Length, In A Black Dress And Large Hat by John Raphael Smith. The price achieved of GBP 2,880.00 (€ 4,231.08) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,500.00 – 3,500.00.
