Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November 2010 Christies in London held the auction The Collection of the Late John Appleby: A Channel Island Treasure House, which included the work View of Eton College Chapel, Windsor by John Preston Neale. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 1,800.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 2,000.00 (€ 2,390.00). Admittedly, works by John Preston Neale have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Bullock’s Museum or The Egyptian Hall, Piccadilly; and A preliminary drawing of Chiswick House, Middlesex for Neale’s Views of Seats (1829). in May 2014 with an auction result of GBP 8,125.00 (€ 9,985.89).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November 2010 führte Christies in London die Auktion The Collection of the Late John Appleby: A Channel Island Treasure House durch, in der auch die Arbeit View of Eton College Chapel, Windsor von John Preston Neale zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 1.800,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 2.000,00 (€ 2.390,00) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Preston Neale auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Bullock’s Museum or The Egyptian Hall, Piccadilly; and A preliminary drawing of Chiswick House, Middlesex for Neale’s Views of Seats (1829). im Mai 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 8.125,00 (€ 9.985,89).
