Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of Ralph Price Esq., seated three-quarter-length, in a black suit by John Prescott Knight was auctioned at Christies in London in May 2005. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 500.00 – 800.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 540.00 (€ 797.21) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Prescott Knight - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work "Auld Robin Gray", which sold at auction in December 2007 for GBP 1,187.50 (€ 1,613.61).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Portrait of Ralph Price Esq., seated three-quarter-length, in a black suit von John Prescott Knight kam im Mai 2005 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 500,00 – 800,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 540,00 (€ 797,21) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von John Prescott Knight mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit "Auld Robin Gray" beobachtet, die im Dezember 2007 für GBP 1.187,50 (€ 1.613,61) versteigert wurde.
