Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of Ralph Price Esq., seated three-quarter-length, in a black suit by John Prescott Knight was auctioned at Christies in London in May 2005. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 500.00 – 800.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 540.00 (€ 797.21) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Prescott Knight - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work "Auld Robin Gray", which sold at auction in December 2007 for GBP 1,187.50 (€ 1,613.61).

Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 500,00 – 800,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 540,00 (€ 797,21) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
