Auction result misses estimated price range
In November this year a collector was able to acquire the work Poised - A Terrier by John Phillip for GBP 1,152.00 (€ 1,334.92). This price was achieved in the auction The Dog Sale at Bonhams in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Phillip achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Early Career of Murillo - 1634 'He was reduced to earn his daily bread by painting coarse and hasty pictures for the Feria (weekly fair) held in a broad street branching from the northern end of the Old Alameda and in front of the old church of ' in February 2003 with an auction result of GBP 94,650.00 (€ 138,186
