This artwork by John Phillip achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in March 2004. In the British and Victorian including Scottish Paintings auction, the work Portrait of Miss Florence Penison, small half-length, in a white dress with pink ribbon sleeves and diamond pendant, painted circle sold for GBP 1,792.50 (€ 2,683.21) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Phillip achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Early Career of Murillo - 1634 'He was reduced to earn his daily bread by painting coarse and hasty pictures for the Feria (weekly fair) held in a broad street branching from the northern end of the Old Alameda and in front of the old church of ' in February 2003 with an auction result of GBP 94,650.00 (€ 138,186

Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Early Career of Murillo - 1634 'He was reduced to earn his daily bread by painting coarse and hasty pictures for the Feria (weekly fair) held in a broad street branching from the northern end of the Old Alameda and in front of the old church of ' im Februar 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 94.650,00 (€ 138.186,01).
