Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May 2012 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master & British Paintings, which included the work A View Of Westminster Bridge, Abbey And Hall From Stangate Bank, Lambeth by John Paul. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 6,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 6,125.00 (€ 7,631.48). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Paul - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Old Leicester Square, London, which sold at auction in May 2001 for GBP 11,750.00 (€ 19,699.14).

Im Mai 2012 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Master & British Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit A View Of Westminster Bridge, Abbey And Hall From Stangate Bank, Lambeth von John Paul zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 6.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 6.125,00 (€ 7.631,48) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von John Paul mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Old Leicester Square, London beobachtet, die im Mai 2001 für GBP 11.750,00 (€ 19.699,14) versteigert wurde.
