The work Portrait of Sir Robert Harry Inglis (1786-1855), of Milson Bryan, Bedford, half-length, seated, in a black coat, holding a letter by John Partridge was sold in the THE ROYAL & SUNALLIANCE COLLECTION auction at Christies in London in May 2005. The auction ended at the price of GBP 1,200.00 (€ 1,771.58), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Partridge - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait of Stuart Majoribanks, full-length, in a black suit, resting his right hand on a writing table, which sold at auction in March 2002 for GBP 3,760.00 (€ 6,146.61).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit Portrait of Sir Robert Harry Inglis (1786-1855), of Milson Bryan, Bedford, half-length, seated, in a black coat, holding a letter von John Partridge wurde im Mai 2005 in der Auktion THE ROYAL & SUNALLIANCE COLLECTION bei Christies in London versteigert. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 1.200,00 (€ 1.771,58) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00. Für andere Arbeiten von John Partridge mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Portrait of Stuart Majoribanks, full-length, in a black suit, resting his right hand on a writing table beobachtet, die im März 2002 für GBP 3.760,00 (€ 6.146,61) versteigert wurde.
