Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2002 Christies in London held the auction HOLLY HSE AND 19 INDIA ST - TWO SCOTTISH COLLECTIONS, which included the work Portrait of Charles Stirling, 4th son of William Stirling of Keir, bust-length in a dark grey coat and white stock by John Partridge. The price achieved of GBP 705.00 (€ 1,115.19) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 600.00 – 1,000.00. Admittedly, works by John Partridge have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait of Stuart Majoribanks, full-length, in a black suit, resting his right hand on a writing table in March 2002 with an auction result of GBP 3,760.00 (€ 6,146.61).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2002 führte Christies in London die Auktion HOLLY HSE AND 19 INDIA ST - TWO SCOTTISH COLLECTIONS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of Charles Stirling, 4th son of William Stirling of Keir, bust-length in a dark grey coat and white stock von John Partridge zur Versteigerung kam. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Partridge auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait of Stuart Majoribanks, full-length, in a black suit, resting his right hand on a writing table im März 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.760,00 (€ 6.146,61).
