Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Consulting the oracle by John Burr was auctioned at Christies in London in September 2007. It achieved a price of GBP 3,500.00 (€ 5,018.74), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 17%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Burr achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Peepshow in February 2003 with an auction result of GBP 41,825.00 (€ 61,063.18).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Consulting the oracle von John Burr kam im September 2007 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 3.500,00 (€ 5.018,74) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 17%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Burr erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Peepshow im Februar 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 41.825,00 (€ 61.063,18).
