A top price for John Burr - as previously expected
In February 2003 Christies in London held the auction THE FORBES COLLECTION OF VICTORIAN PICTURES AND WORKS OF ART, which included the work The Peepshow by John Burr. The price achieved of GBP 41,825.00 (€ 61,063.18) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, The Peepshow is the most expensive artwork by John Burr that we have observed at auctions so far.

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 41.825,00 (€ 61.063,18) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist The Peepshow das teuerste Kunstwerk von John Burr, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
