Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Monkey at Aswan, 1979 by John Olsen was auctioned at Bonhams in Sydney in November last year. It changed hands for a price of AUD 1,107.00 (€ 720.31) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of AUD 800.00 – 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Olsen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Lily Pond at Humpty-Doo, 2004 in May last year with an auction result of AUD 369,000.00 (€ 343,863.57).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Monkey at Aswan, 1979 von John Olsen kam im November letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in Sydney zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von AUD 1.107,00 (€ 720,31) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von AUD 800,00 – 1.200,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Olsen erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Lily Pond at Humpty-Doo, 2004 im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 369.000,00 (€ 343.863,57).
